After a picture perfect day on the North Fork that included lots of snow and a blue sky, folks gathered at Sondreson Hall for Christmas dinner. Santa’s elves had been there early to decorate with colorful lights and a beautiful Christmas tree and then neighbors began arriving laden down with side dishes and desserts. There were probably 50 or more in attendance to spread the holiday cheer, many more than in years past.
Once the traditional Christmas dinner photo had been taken by Larry Wilson, everyone returned to the hall and Ray Hart gave the blessing.
Then everyone lined up for the turkey, ham, and delicious side dishes brought by everyone.
After everyone had taken several trips to the dessert table, Steve Berg, Jan Caldwell and Jerry Wernick led the singing of traditional Christmas carols. We had a special treat when Jan Caldwell, Jerry Wernick, Virginia Sluiter, and Ray Hart sang Stille Nacht Heil’ge Nacht.
We want to say thank you to everyone who helped decorate, set up, serve, and cleanup the hall afterwards. And a special thanks to the Heaphys, Caldwells, Bergs, and Wernicks for all of their time and hard work that helped make this one of the best Christmas dinners ever.
